Hi, everyone!

Happy Friday! Thanks for being here. There’s lots going on, so let’s get to it

Deal Announcement!

I’m thrilled to share that my new novella, Bright Phaedra, has been picked up by Thinking Ink Press! I’m so excited to be working with the folks at this SF Bay Area Independent Publisher. Their titles amplify disabled, LGBTQ+, and neurodivergent voices, and they’ve been a dream to work with, even in these early stages.

COMING in SUMMER 2026!

TODAY! Flights of Foundry Begins

Panelist and Moderator

This year for Flights of Foundry, I’m a panelist, and for the first time, a moderator! Catch me at on the panels below, in the F of F Discord, various virtual audiences, or lurking on Bsky!

Pint Size 3 Show

This year, I’ve been concentrating on slowing down with my ceramics work, iterating instead of rushing forward, and working intuitively. I’ve been gratified to see my work in a number of shows/exhibits in recent months as a result, and it’s something still new, strange, and humbling for me.

Two of my small scale sculptures are currently on view (and for sale!) at the truly wonderful Transmission Gallery Oakland (now until Nov. 1). Check out the whole show if you can!

BATMAN!

We all know you’re here for the Bat 😉. And I get it! Because he’s hilarious and adorable and I love him to bits.

While he doesn’t venture up his carpet stairs to look out the window anymore, and often needs help getting on the bed or on a lap, he’s been in good spirits, more playful than he’s been in a long while, and is eating well (thank the heavens for those tubes of tuna puree!)

I hope we get to keep him for a long while yet. It’s so hard to see him decline, but he’s very much loved, and I’m grateful for every day we have left

Wood Fire Prep!

This late summer/early fall, I’ve been a part of a wood fire workshop at Laney College in Oakland. It’s 12 weeks of intensive education, making, and preparation. We’ll do two firings in that time, and yesterday, we cut and stacked all the wood we’ll need for both! Plus shelf prep, kiln furniture, cleaning, bisque loading…the works! It was a good but exhausting day. Check out those neat stacks! Above all, I’m unbelievably grateful to have access to such an amazing art community here in the Bay Area.

About this much will be used in one firing!

More wood! All donated green waste.

That’s it for now! Thank you again for checking out my newsletter. I’ll only send this out when things are afoot. I hope to see you today for Flights of Foundry! Hi and Bye!
